It includes information about accessing criminal records and getting them expunged or getting a pardon.

Crime jobs cover such realms as police, corrections guards in jails, forensic technicians, federal law enforcement, homeland security, Customs, immigration, private investigators, parole, probation, etc.

Crime is everywhere in the heart of every human being. Eve seduced and manipulated Adam, Cain killed Abel and that’s just for starters.

As a student of the Bible, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a cautionary guidebook for the few righteous people to guard themselves from all the evil people everywhere. The human race is evil. Consider what you think on a daily basis in your private thoughts. Jealousy, lust and anger are always there naturally.

We got the Ten Commandments and Dante Allegheiri’s Seven Deadly Sins to warn us about all the disgusting things people do.

You can’t avoid crime or bad behavior unless you’re a hermit. People lie to you all the time. I’ve had many things stolen from me.

Being cynical is not a symptom of aging. It’s a natural conclusion of living among people for a long time.

At least two TV networks, Investigation Discovery and A&E pretty well dedicate themselves to True Crime.

I’ve watched many true crime and organized crime shows on youtube.

The channel filmrise true crime has several good TV shows on it including Unsolved Mysteries.

As far as criminal justice jobs go, after all the true crime I’ve watched, mostly about detectives investigating crimes, particularly The First 48 (I’ve watched every one of their episodes), you will not be successful in criminal justice if you see it as a 40 hour a week job. A few corrections guards get by treating it as a low-level job but everybody else works hard. These people are some of the most unsung heroes of society. They’re relentless in their attempts to solve serious crimes. There is a thin blue line between anarchy and order.

It’s not uncommon for wretched, miserable and egotistical people to try to bring other people down by being dicks in order to bring themselves up a notch for the moment.

Anger is natural. Violent thoughts are natural. Anyone who pretends they don’t have them is a liar.

I used to watch reality TV shows. I don’t anymore because I got bored of them but I watched them to prove to myself my theory of human nature. Virtually everyone in this capitalist, pop culture world we live in is playing a silent one-upmanship game with everyone else.

People always have to feel like they’re getting the last dig in to protect their fragile egos. Those Real Housewives shows are a joke for those women pretending they’re friends with each other. They’re all selfish narcissists trying to look cool on TV.

Crime is rampant for these fundamental reasons:

people feel like someone disrespected them and they see red

people want something for nothing

greed

lust for power over others

The difference between what’s in your heart and what you make real is self-control. I’ve watched pretty well every episode of A&E’s The First 48, Live PD and TV’s Cops. I watch them to watch human nature repeat itself over and over again. Anybody can kill someone else in a half-minute of anger.

When women say they have to be vigilant around every man, it’s true. The phony pillars of society regularly abuse their positions to sexually assault women. Most women can be easily overpowered by any man. Just grab her neck and squeeze. I heard on youtube that Slick Willie, a former American president, bragged that he had seduced over 3000 women. If this is true, many of those were rape.

Cosby, Weinstein, Spacey, Sheen and Clinton should all be in jail for rape. I was watching a Weinstein bit. Some journalists asked him how he was doing. He said something like not too good, I need help, second chances. I thought somebody should have hollered back, “Second chances, you should be in jail for life you pig.”

I wrote another book called Violence Against Women Superbook but this book is my homage to the evil part of humanity that everyone of us has to protect ourselves from.

I live like this line out of the Bible:

1 John 5:19

We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

I think the human race sucks as it says many times in the Bible about its evil nature so I do what I love, love animals and don’t let the world pollute me.

I wrote this book to tell the truth about crime and maybe some naive people will take the hint and realize you can never be too careful.

Curiosity killed the cat.  Better to err on the side of caution than end up dead like some naïve kid being invited to a party of strangers.

I used to hitchhike as a naïve, young man.  I was big and strong.  I don’t understand why any female would hitchhike then they end up dead and there’s a big scandal as though it’s the government’s fault like all those murdered native women in Canada.  Many of them were hitchhiking when they disappeared.

As you can probably tell, I’m a cynical old man at 58 years old.  I wasn’t always this way.  I was a naïve, idealistic kid who believed what they taught me in school then when I went out into the world, I constantly saw evil and corruption which made me the person I am now.

I don’t want to make new friends because I don’t trust anybody.  I can’t get in trouble if I minimize contact with people.  This is reality.  This is why most older men back off from the human race, because they know how evil and disgusting people can be.

The biggest myth about criminal justice-law enforcement careers is that it’s high-tech.  High-tech exists mostly in TV shows for several reasons.

Most law enforcement is basic front-line work dealing with people face-to-face on the street and in jail.

Many but not all crimes are solved with street psychology, not the B.S. psychology called forensic psychology that is one of the categories sanctioned by the American Psychological Association which is a bunch of nerds pretending they have insight into how criminals and evil people think.

First of all, no human being knows what any other human being is thinking and no one will until there are great advances in telepathy within the human race so all this B.S. they pretend is great insight into criminal behavior in psychology textbooks is as useless as the terms subsconscious mind and self-actualization, two B.S. general psychology theories that form the lynchpins of two of the three great theories of psychology, psychoanalysis and humanism which don’t hold a rat’s ass to me and my personal psychology of purity which is living by my true nature in my soul not buying into anybody’s B.S. beyond my own truth which is what all great investigators and detectives do, live by their own truth gained through natural intuition and lots of experience on the street dealing with people.

Real police work is all over documentary TV like the A&E network shows 48 Hours, Cold Case Files and Live PD.

Cops is now on Spike TV.

Dateline NBC, CBS’s 48 Hours and ABC’s 20/20 are big on true life murder cases.

All these shows show real police work which is one or more guys and gals gathering clues, thinking them through then methodically working one step at a time to find the suspects.

They never give a rookie detective status.  It’s earned after several years on the street, learning patterns about how people act and live.  You don’t learn this in a book or solve crimes exclusively in a lab.  It’s face-to-face work with people.

The TV shows Forensic Files, Death Row Stories and Beyond a Reasonable Doubt are owned by the Headline News Network.

Forensic Files has 404 episodes according to their Wikipedia page.  This is the TV show that deals with technology to solve crimes, mostly DNA matching but also:

fingerprints

shoe prints

footprints

tire prints

fiber evidence

ballistic (bullets and guns)

blood splattering

cellphone records, what cellphone towers were pinged to give location

cellphone texts

caller cellphone interaction leading up to and after a crime

cause of death

photographic analysis

video surveillance

social media like facebook posts

checking alibis

finding witnesses

getting confessions

asking the suspect the same questions over and over to see if there are lies

other factors.

Forensic Files is a real-life TV show about solving crimes with technology.

The way they solve crimes nowadays is very unique.  There was one on the show 48 Hours.  The guy killed the girl then tried to light her on fire using his red shorts which did not work.  The fire went out after he ran away.  The detectives looked on facebook and there was a picture of him wearing those red shorts.

It’s all about digging for the clue that’s going to solve the case.

All those fictional crime-solving shows could have some truth to them or they could be fiction but regardless of them, the overwhelming reality about fighting crime using technology is that it costs big money.

On Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, the forensic anthropologist said it costs $35,000 for just one skull-to-face matching software program so she used gimp.org, a free photoshop alternative program.

The point for all you naïve young people mesmerized by fiction crime shows on TV who want to be forensic technicians is that most police departments have a bread and butter budget that barely covers police cars on the road, never mind all this fancy technical crime-fighting equipment.

In order to be a detective who investigates serious crimes after the fact, you have to pay your dues, start at the lower ranks as a patrol cop then work your way up.

The other basic big jobs are:

corrections/ prison guard

911 dispatch

An emerging field is video surveillance technology, mostly being a technician who sets up video cameras for a city government on the streets and in buildings and for private and corporate customers.  In the near future, every municipality in the modern Western world will have street surveillance cams just like the novel 1984 predicted.

EMTs/ paramedics are hybrid firefighters/ medical technicians.

The medical examiner/ coroner is a medical doctor specializing in autopsies, examining dead people for cause of death.  There are medical examination technicians where you assist a medical doctor with autopsies.  In a big city like Los Amgeles, autopsies are conducted around the clock but in most jurisdictions, not many people die under suspicious circumstances.

The perception from fictional TV shows that lots of people die under suspicious circumstances that demand investigation and autopsy greatly outweighs the reality.  The jobs aren’t there because the demand does not exist.  We’re not as homicidal as TV would have a brainwashed person believe.

Evil, homicidal crime is not as rampant as it’s portrayed on TV.

There are plenty of people getting high on recreational drugs, stealing stuff from stores, hiring themselves out as escorts, hitting their spouses, having sex with a drunk person (sexual assault aka date rape) and fighting in bars and at parties but not a lot of really heinous crimes like murder, bank robbery, kidnapping, sexual molestation and armed robbery.

In the past, you could go right from high school, take a police test at a local department then if you passed, you did basic training and you were a cop.

Nowadays, a police officer or prison guard job is considered a good job, not the low-level blue collar job it used to be.

You need more formal intelligence nowadays because of the computers they use and the precise legal knowledge they need to know the law codes and not just arrest someone and sort it out later.  That risks a lawsuit of false arrest.  You have to know a little bit about all the laws in order to determine if someone is breaking a criminal law, not a civil law which is dealt with through civil court or just being an asshole which might be immoral and unethical but not illegal in many cases.

They want older people too, somebody at least 25 for two reasons:

You don’t look like a kid.

You have real experience in the world.

Many young people can’t handle the authority of being a police officer.  I saw the case on Forensic Files of the 24 year old police officer who stopped a woman, raped her and killed her.

Young people simply don’t have the maturity or look to give off an aura of authority.

Most places want women because they want a diverse department.

Chances are you won’t get in right from high school.  Go to either a real college and take criminal justice courses or find a career/ community college that teaches law enforcement.

You have to pass the vision test and some kind of psychology-mental health interview or test.

You can start out in corrections as a prison guard or join the military and do that for five years then start applying to police departments to be a cop.
